People, Places & Pets

After working in Boston area for 18 years, Donna moved back to New Bedford to take care of her aging parents. Donna soon retired and began painting again with well-known portrait artist, Deborah Macy, who encouraged her to exhibit with the Bierstadt Art Society, which Donna had helped found in the 1980s. Today she regularly exhibits at Gallery X. Her subjects are mainly, People, Places and Pets. With landscapes, Donna loves finding the dramatic light and shadow contrasts in search of Mother Nature's magic. In portraits of people and animals, Donna strives to catch the personality of her subjects.
